Furutani’s work centers on kohiki-style ware (粉引き) — red iron-rich clay coated with a soft white slip glaze that reveals gentle warmth and depth through daily use. His tableware embodies the quiet beauty of imperfection: simple, functional, and filled with a sense of calm. Each piece reflects the spirit of Shigaraki — where soil, fire, and time come together in harmony.
Because each one is handmade, there are individual differences in color, shape, size, weight, and glaze unevenness. In addition, depending on the degree of glaze, the appearance of the baked color, pinholes, and iron powder (black spots) will vary. Please rest assured that there is no problem in using it.
