Furutani Pottery Goth Line Oval Plate

A timeless oval-shaped plate designed for everyday versatility and quiet beauty. Its simple silhouette makes it perfect for daily meals — use it as a dinner plate, dessert plate, or to serve small main dishes such as simmered fish or vegetables.

Each piece is hand-painted with “Gosu,” a traditional blue pigment known for its serene tone and natural depth. To highlight this blue hue, a clear glossy glaze is applied, creating a soft sheen that enhances the contrast between the white clay and cobalt brushwork.

Occasionally, you may notice delicate pinkish spots called “On-hon”, naturally formed during firing. These gentle blush tones give each piece a warm and organic impression — a beauty born from the kiln itself.

Because every item is handcrafted, subtle variations such as slight warping, pinholes, unevenness, or small iron specks may appear. These are not flaws but signatures of the handmade process, reflecting the individuality of each plate.

No two pieces are ever the same — even when made with the same technique. If you purchase multiple plates, we will do our best to select ones with a similar texture and feel. Please note that re-orders may vary slightly in color, size, or shape, adding to the unique charm of handmade ceramics.
