Handcrafted Bear & Acorn Mug
Handcrafted Bear & Acorn Mug by Toshiyuki Haramura
This charming handmade mug features a gentle bear standing upright, as if quietly watching over you from afar. Its slightly puzzled expression adds a heart-warming touch of personality. On the reverse side, a delicate acorn motif—his favorite treat—is softly dyed using traditional washi paper techniques.
The rustic rim and subtly textured clay create a beautiful balance against the creamy milky glaze, giving warmth and depth to the playful bear and acorn design. Each mug is individually hand-thrown and finished, allowing small variations in shape, color, and glaze flow to emerge—hallmarks of true Japanese wabi-sabi craftsmanship.
No two pieces are ever exactly alike. Pinholes, tiny iron spots, or uneven glazing are part of their handmade charm, celebrating the authenticity and individuality of artisan ceramics.
